 Caring
For Your Dress
- Store your dress in a dress bag that is unzipped so
that the dress can breath. Lay it flat on the floor, or under your bed.
- Sew dress shields in before you wear the dress.
This will avoid getting any sweat stains on the delicate fabrics.
- The front center panel corners are typical points of
wear. You might want to put some clear nail polish on these points to
give them a little extra strength.
- If you do get wear on the center panel corners, find
a magic marker in a color as close as possible to your dress color. Fill
in the white areas, then cover with nail polish.
- White satin cleans up well with baby wipes.
- If you do need to clean an area, be sure to test the
fabric in an inconspicuous spot first. Try a baby wipe or Oxy clean wipe
to remove the stain and let air dry.
- Sewn sequins can be replaced. Simply get a
swatch of matching sequins, snip off as many as you need, and hot glue them
back into place on the dress.
- Do not dry clean your dress. Sewn sequins and
glitterball fabrics will lose their sparkles. If necessary, you can have
the cotton lining replaced.
