Designing Your Dress

The concept behind this site is simple, to allow you the opportunity to design your very own costume to your specifications with our help. In an effort to do so, we offer the following guidelines.

Choosing your Fabrics

You may use more than one color and fabric in your dress. Here are some considerations to keep in mind as you create.

Fabric 1 will be the main material of your costume. In tandem with the color you choose, it will set the tone of your costume.

Fabric 2 will be the main inset material and color of your costume if you choose a two-tone dress. For example, should you desire a Green/Sequin costume (Fabric one) with Red/Silk, then the Red/Silk would be the main inset of your dress.

Choosing Applicae for your Design

Fabric and color 1 will be the most prominent applicae color on your solo costume.

Fabric and color 2 will be the secondary applicae color on your solo costume. It will serve to augment your primary choice.

Fabric and color 3 will be the thirciary applicae color on your solo costume. This choice will serve as an accent for the design.

You may, if you desire, choose a forth or even fifth fabric and color for your costume. However, these additions should be considered carefully as they add to the complexity and detail involved in the creation of your dress.

Choosing your Design

When you have measured, picked your fabric and chosen your applicae, go to our Store and make a deposit for a Solo Costume. Upon receipt of your deposit we will confirm your delivery date and send you a sample of available Designs. This package will aid you in choosing the design for your dress. When you pick your design return the sample package to us with your choice. However, you can always send us a design of your own and we will endeavor to us it.

Tips

Send several photographs of your dancer. A close up of her face aids in insuring that the trim colors complement her skin tone. While noting her hair color will help in choosing fabric shades. A full-length photograph aids us in shaping the costume to fit her form. With a custom costume we can alter the cut to enhance/hide your dancer’s posture and body shape.
